How can I activate the voice option?

Here you can find out how to activate the voice option. With the Digital Republic Voice Option, you can now use our SIM cards to make outgoing calls and send unlimited text messages to all Swiss providers. (Except abroad) - More information: What is the Voice Option?


How can I use the Voice Option as a new customer?

As a new customer, you can easily purchase and activate the voice option. Order a data SIM card with the speed profile of your choice on our website. When activating your SIM card in the customer portal, you can activate the voice option with one click after step 1 as soon as you are asked to do so. You can order the eSIM with Voice Option directly via our customer portal. How do I order an eSIM?


Please note that you can only transfer the number to us if you activate the voice option. (Answer "Yes" to the voice option)


 

As a new Digital Republic customer, you can test the voice option on your SIM card free of charge if you confirm the voice option when activating the SIM card. The voice option can no longer be activated for free later in the customer account.

How can I use the Voice Option as an existing customer?As an existing customer, you have the option of using the voice option with your existing SIM card. If your Digital Republic data SIM card is active, you can proceed as follows:


  1. Log in to your customer account. 
  2. Next, click on "Manage" for the SIM card in question.
  3. On the next page, click on "Change".
  4. Scroll down and check the Voice option. (Answer the voice option with "Yes")
  5. Finally, click on "Next" and then on "Send".
  6. From then on, you can use the number of your existing SIM card to make calls and send text messages. In order to use the voice option, at least one data subscription must be active.

Important:

Please note that if you activate the voice option on your SIM card, your current data package will also be automatically renewed depending on your subscription.

Here is an example:

If you have a Flat 10 subscription for CHF 10 per month that has already been running for 15 days, your Flat 10 data package will be automatically renewed as soon as you activate the voice option in your customer account.


The voice and data options now both have a new term of 30 days.

We will of course charge you pro rata.


Specifically in this case:

  1. Voice option will be added - CHF 8.00 will be charged immediately.
  2. Since voice has been added, your Flat 10 data package will also be renewed - CHF 10 will be charged
  3. However, as your previous data package has not been used up, you will be deducted an amount pro rata - CHF 5 (because you still have 15 days left) will be credited
  4. 10 + 8 – 5 = 13
