How does 2FA verification work?

Protect your account by enabling two-factor authentication (2FA). This significantly increases the security of your account by adding an additional layer of protection.

How to activate 2FA verification

1. After logging into your customer account, you will see one of the following messages:

3. You now have the option to choose how you want to protect your account. We recommend that you use an Authenticator app. You can use apps such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or Authy. There are other apps, but these are particularly popular and other apps are not guaranteed. Alternatively, you can also select SMS verification.

Method 1 - Authenticator App:

1. Select the Authenticator App method and click "Next" at the bottom right.

2. After you have downloaded the Authenticator app, you can open it and scan the QR code, which is displayed on your right. In our example, we use the Authenticator app from Microsoft.

3. Now open Microsoft's Authenticator app and click on the + icon in the upper right corner.

5. Next, click on "Other (Google, Facebook, etc.)

7. After that, the camera of your smartphone will open. Now scan the QR code that is displayed to you on our website. After that, a numerical code appears:

9. You now have 60 seconds to enter the displayed code in the customer portal now. Then click on the button at the bottom right.

11. In the next step, you will now be shown unique recovery codes. Your recovery codes are important to manage your two-factor authentication settings or to restore your account if you lose access to your device. Each code can only be used once. Therefore, keep these recovery codes very well!
12. Once you have saved your codes, you can enter your name below and accept the "operations". Then click on "continue".

14. Voilà. You have now successfully activated 2FA verification.

Method 2 - SMS verification:

1. Select the SMS verification method and click "continue" at the bottom right.

2. Enter your mobile phone number now:

4. Then click on "Send code" at the bottom right. You will now receive an SMS with the corresponding code.

5. Now enter the corresponding code and then click on "verify" below.

7. In the next step, you will now be shown unique recovery codes. Your recovery codes are important to manage your two-factor authentication settings or to restore your account if you lose access to your device. Each code can only be used once. Therefore, keep these recovery codes very well!
8. Once you have saved your codes, you can enter your name below and accept the "operations". Then click on "continue".
